On Feb.1 UST junior biochemistry major Angela Nguyen was found after missing for 10 days. According to KHOU 11, Nguyen was located at a local women’s shelter due to personal reasons.
UST Chief of Police H.E. Jenkins sent a campus-wide email issuing the news.“University of St.Thomas community is overjoyed that Angela has been found and is safe. We are grateful to those who offered their prayers and assistance in locating her.”
UST junior biochemistry major Angela Nguyen is missing. She was last seen near Guinan Hall, walking toward Sul Ross Street at 6:13 p.m. on Jan. 22, according to a campus-wide email sent by UST Chief of Police H.E. Jenkins on Jan. 28.
Nguyen is 5 feet tall with long black hair, and was last seen wearing a black coat and sneakers, carrying a white and red/pink backpack.
Jenkins said there are no new developments at this time and that UST Police still only “know the facts as they are.”
“I ask [that] if Angela sees what we’re putting out [the alerts that she is missing], that she call someone and let us know that she’s safe,” he said.
UST junior psychology major Emily Olvera, a friend of Nguyen, said she hopes Nguyen returns safely, and called her “an amazing person who did so much for this school.
“I think students above all should be concerned about Angela’s whereabouts and know the true information,” Olvera said. “Not spread rumors or false information.”
