Fans of the Samsung FE series should brace themselves for some disappointing news: the upcoming Galaxy S24 FE may come with a price increase.
According to SmartPrix, the Galaxy S24 FE is expected to launch at $649 in the U.S., which is $50 more than its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 FE. Leaker @OnLeaks has reported that the base model with 128GB of storage will start at this price, while the 256GB variant will be priced at $709.
While this increase isn’t drastic, it diminishes the appeal of these phones, which are designed to provide a more affordable option compared to the flagship Galaxy S lineup. Although they remain less expensive, the value proposition is somewhat weakened. This trend isn’t unexpected, as Samsung has raised prices for several of its flagship devices this year, including the S24 Ultra, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6.
Leaks about the S24 FE have revealed a 6.7-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2400e processor. The phone is also expected to feature an aluminum frame, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP primary camera.
In terms of battery life, the S24 FE is rumored to include a 4,565mAh battery, potentially offering up to 78 hours between charges. Additionally, it may be available in several colors, including black, gray, light blue, light green, and yellow—though these colors are likely to receive unique names upon launch.
The phone is anticipated to debut in Vietnam as early as next week, suggesting a U.S. release isn’t far behind. With up to seven years of software updates, it promises to be a solid investment, even if the price bump shifts it more into the midrange category.
