October Council of Clubs Minutes

Clubs Absent: Accounting Society, Alcohol Safety Club, American Student Dental Association, Deaf Culture Club, Doctors Without Borders, Math Club, Mu Phi Epsilon, National Student Nurses’ Association, Net Impact, Spanish Club

Proceedings:

Faridifar announced her support for the clubs as faculty representative for student affairs and asked them to help with the upcoming UST farmer’s market.

Treasurer’s Report:

Budget Update Forms were due October 4 by 11:59 p.m.

Tri-Beta requested $1,500 to provide CPR/AED Training to UST students for $5 each. The request was approved.

The American Chemical Society requested $2,000 to fund its trip to a national conference. The request was approved.

New Club Proposals:

The Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting, and Criminology, Law and Society were both voted in.

Sustainability:

Chair of Campus Recycling Angela Nguyen said she wants clubs to become more involved and participating clubs will receive a $20 stipend.

Faridifar announced the following fall events:

  • Family Weekend window painting competition: Oct. 15-18
  • Family Weekend: Oct. 19-21
  • SCA tailgate, family picnic: Oct.20
  • Make a Difference Week – Oct. 22-26
  • Pumpkin carving – 12 p.m. Oct. 25
  • Neewollah – 9 p.m. Oct. 26
  • Celt Beer Fest – Oct. 27

The Sport Clubs Association announced that it will hold a family picnic during family weekend and encouraged clubs to “come play volleyball with us or showcase their club during the event.”

The next CoC meeting will be held Thursday, November 1.
