UST Police Reports Aggravated Robbery near The Menil Collection, Male Supsect Wanted

The University of St. Thomas Police Department reported an aggravated robbery near The Menil Collection on Oct. 3. No UST students were involved.

According to an email sent to students by UST Police Chief H.E. Jenkins, around 10:20 p.m. on Oct. 3 a male subject was walking by The Menil Collection, two blocks away from campus, when he was approached by a bald, 5’8” African American male who pulled out a “blue steel weapon” and demanded the subject’s wallet and phone.

The suspect took only the wallet before running off towards Mandell St. and Richmond Ave. 

Jenkins wrote the UST Police Department is actively investigating the case, and advises students to not walk alone at night, display your phone, jewelry or other valuables in plain sight, and to utilize police escorts if necessary.
